Principal's Welcome

Welcome to the website of Emmaus College, Rockhampton.

Emmaus College has as its foundational story the well known “Journey to Emmaus” story from the Gospel of Luke.  This story is unique to Luke’s gospel.  The theme of “journey” is one that is embraced by the college and is a fine metaphor for portraying the growth that all people experience in developing their spirituality, intellect, physical capabilities and wisdom.

The Emmaus Vision is one that emphasises the centrality of “hope” as a virtue to be cherished and that rejoices in “God’s love” and the “dignity of each person”. The enthusiasm for engaging in a life lived with the Christian philosophy is revealed by the call to “let Christ’s fire burn within us”.  The staff members at Emmaus have a deep commitment to providing a meaningful and challenging education within a Catholic Christian environment to the young people of Rockhampton.
